Just mounted the replacement red spotted purple butterfly you sent me. No defects , thank you very much.
Got these along with a few cool beetles and butterflies for my first time pinning! As someone used to sewing pins these are much more dainty than I expected but perfect for pinning little beetle legs and delicate butterflies. I found them to be a bit too flimsy when it came to getting through tough beetle elytra however, but I guess that's what the next size up in pins is for haha. Using small pliers to help hold the pins I was able to get through the shells eventually after some good thorough rehydration.
I expected the wings to be spread and not only the arms. I see I was just confused by the different display options given online. But I did not like how the bug is only secured by hot glue, which wasn’t even placed neatly. There is glue string off the edges too that can be seen from the front. It disappoints me that the insect is nearly ruined from how it was displayed. I understand it’s a cheaper alternative than the time it takes to pin, but I would not have payed for this service if I knew what it meant.
The colors are beautiful and I can’t wait to create art with them. Thank you!
